Looking forward to a hometown visit.

We are going to my childhood hometown for the coming weekend and I am so excited I can hardly stand it.  My best friend (other than my hubby) is going to be there with her family from Ohio.  I haven't seen her since last Summer and I am so very excited.  I will hopefully also have the chance to catch up with a few other special friends.  The town will have a huge fireworks program Saturday night and I can't wait to take the girls.  We took them 2 years ago and I am anxious to see how they like them now that they are a little bit older.  It will hopefully be a fun visit.  Not to mention I am excited that the 2 older girls will stay behind at Grandma's house for a day or two and I can get a little bit of peace and quiet and some quality time with baby A.  I hope ya'll have a wonderful Holiday weekend.  Be safe!

Summertime

We have been having crazy weather.  For about 2 weeks we had non-stop storms, all at night of course while we were TRYING to sleep.  Fortunately the girls let us sleep MOST of the time.  We have had a few nice nights of peace and quiet lately, so I am very thankful for it.  Tonight we had a delicious meal of burgers on the grill with corn on the cob, and watermelon.  The girls and I had banana splits for dessert.  What a great summer meal.  I have been having wonderful luck with a new meal planning/cookbook my Mother gave me a while back.  It is "Supper's on the table, come home", by Rachel Masters.  It is a Godsend in my opinion.  I have always had such trouble trying to figure out what to make and what groceries to get to make our meals.  This book has 13 weeks of meals, with desserts and snacks and includes a grocery list each week needed to make the meals for the specific week.  It is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!  I can't go on enough about it.  I have had 2 friends buy the book for themselves and their Mother's as well!  If you need any help with cooking for your family, this is a book for you!!!!
We are enjoying our Summer so far with playdates, playing outside and Vacation Bible School.  I am trying to help our middle child prepare for preschool in the Fall.  Our oldest will be starting Kindergarten.  I can't believe how fast time is going.  All is well here and I hope ya'll are enjoying your Summer.  God Bless and keep cool!!!

Rain, Rain, go away!

Not much new to share.  It has been raining it seems every day for about a week or two.  I have lost track.  I just know we are soaking wet!!!  It makes for a muggy day too and restless nights.  The girls don't like thunder and it seems just about the time we are settling in for bed, the storms pop up.  But the yards, trees, bushes and flowers sure are pretty and colorful!  We planted some flowers last weekend when my Mom was here and the girls love to help water them.
The 2 big girls are at Bible School right now.  I hope they are having a great time.  I am getting a chance to have some one on one time with Baby A.  She is such a good little babe.  We were able to skype with my Dad on Friday and then my Mother-in-law and sister-in-law and her family on Sunday.  Web cams are wonderful!  It was so good to see everyone since we can't see family as much as we would like.
Must go for now.  Laundry won't fold itself.
