Another cold day

It is freezing cold outside again. Imagine that!!! We had a nice day on Sunday and went to church and then to my nephew's birthday party. It was a fun day for the girls. I haven't had a good night's sleep since I don't know when. My husband has taken to snoring all night long every night lately. Last night I cracked and went and slept in bed with E. It was precious.
Last night we went to the grocery store without kids and it was amazing!!! It was so easy and simple and a lot less stressful!! Well, E will be 3 years old in about 3 weeks. Feb. 17th to be exact and I have to get crackin' on planning a party. She may want a Hannah Montana party. We'll see. I gotta go see what the girls are getting into. Hopefully more to update later.
P.S. Bubba has caught on to E's bad habits and goes around saying "GUYS!" whenever adults are trying to have a discussion. It is cute and annoying at the same time. She is trying to sing her A B C's but only gets A B D out. Here's a shout out to my cousin if she reads this. I love her and miss her and haven't seen her in years. Hopefully we can see each other sometime soon.

It's still snowing!!!!

Here I am a day later and it is still snowing. We had to cancel our trip to the farm. E was up all night coughing and the weather is questionable for travel to the "country". So we are chillin' at Grandma's house watching Lady and the Tramp and sitting by the fire. I could fall asleep. There is something about being in the house you grew up in, sitting by a cozy warm fire on a cold blustery day that just feels like home. My hubby was on call last night and we got a phone call at 3 a.m. and it scared the livin daylights out of me. That is the first time that has ever happened. Not much else new going on here I guess. We will have to go to the farm in the Spring when it's warmer out and E can see the piggies. I hope so anyway. Hi to all my friends by the way. Hope you like my page. It could be more interesting, but I don't really have time to perk it up. By the way, if any of you have good advice for a 3 year old going on 16 with an attitude let me know!!!!! EEESH!!!! My hubby and I were just talking last night about how we used to be so bored before we had kids, and we were so ready to have them. Now, we LOVE a few hours to ourselves. Don't get me wrong, my kids are my life and I treasure them more than anything. But, at times, I forget how to have an adult conversation and my husband and I don't really talk about anything other than bills and the kids. Not really that romantic anymore. We started trying to go out on a date once a week just for dinner even, and it is like a mini vacation. I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!! I guess staying home with the girls makes even the most simple outing alone seem exciting. Gotta go tend to the kiddies. Later.

its a cold day in nebraska!!

Not much new here other than the beautiful snow fall and I hope it lasts all day. It is now 3p.m. and it has been snowing since 8a.m. I am at my folks and they have a cozy fire going in the woodstove and E is upstairs playing with Grandma while Bubba naps at home with Daddy. It is hospital pa looza with my family lately. My brother was in a week ago, my Dad 2 weeks ago, my Grandma a week ago and my Grandpa right now. I am trying to keep my family healthy but it isn't easy this time of year. E has a cough and sounds like a seal at night. I am looking forward to going to visit a friend at her folks tomorrow. They live on a farm and I am excited for E to see it, but I don't think she'll see much with it being so cold. We'll hang out inside I hope. It is so pretty outside, I love the snow. I love it even more when I am snug inside watching it from indoors.
I am currently trying the Weight Watchers thing again. I lost 35 pounds with it 3 years ago B.C. (Before Children). I am not being as strict as I was then. I kinda know what to do without having to write everything down, but it is amazing how many foods are so high in calories. Holy Moly.
I have to laugh. My Dad is trying to explain microwaving soup to my Grandma to make her life easier. She is so out of touch sometimes, poor gal. She is giving my Dad grief for going to visit my Grandpa at the hospital because she doesn't want my Dad to get sick. She is still such a Mother to him even though he is 63!!!!!! Okay, this turned out not to be very interesting. Sorry. Now my Dad is telling my Grandma about individual pudding cups. Oh my gosh this is cracking me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grandma is telling my Dad not to go anywhere because it is too cold outside. They are so funny.
Better go home or I might catch a cold........cough cough.
Hee Hee.

this is my dad and me at the lake in Michigan. I gotta say it, my Dad hung the moon. He rocks and is the best Dad in the world. Love ya big guy!

sick kid

Holy Moly!!!
Pics circa 1973. That's yours truly being held by Grandma and Grandpa and Mom. That was when we lived in Omaha. Hard to believe. Thought I'd throw those in for a little fun.
Well well well. I finally took Bubba to the Dr. and she has and ear infection. Duh. Hell hath no furry like a sick Bubba let me tell you. Yikes! She is a crab to the max! Not much new going on here. It is freakin' cold still and I am getting cabin fever big time. I usually LOVE this time of year but with 2 little ones home all the time, I'm climbing up the freaking walls!!!! I can't wait for Spring to go to the park.
Have you heard the latest about Britney Spears. She is a mess.

I am bummed Christmas is over. It is such a magical time. Now I am looking forward to next Christmas. Hopefully we'll be going to Texas to spend time with my hubby's family. I am also looking forward to going to the lake in Michigan this summer. It may be the last time. The older generations are thinking of selling the house that's been in the family for 100 years. It makes me sad. I want the kids to spend time there and have fun in the lake. My Dad grew up going there every summer when he was a kid. It was the only place that was truly home to him since he was an Army brat. Sigh.
Well, gotta go take care of the offspring. I'm lovin' it. Hope all is well with everyone.

Happy New Year

Here are some really old pics from summer 2006. My kids are so cute. I am quite surprised I had such cute kids honestly. Hee Hee. The bottom pic was taken Father's Day 2006. The top pic was taken of Bubba in her swing and E giving her a kiss... how precious.
boy is this a pain to get to. I hope my friends have better luck than I do getting here. Not much new. I am short on sleep big time. Bubba was up at 4:30 crying and had a fever. This is the longest either of our kids has been sick and I am worn out. I feel so sorry for her. It seems every New Year rolls around and either the hubby is out or I am. We're never both up to ring in the new year. Last night was no exception. Ho Hum. Ah married life. I went to bed at 11:30 to the fine sounds of a mountain man sawing logs next to me. My big girl is now in the other room scarfing down Grandma and Grandpa's popcorn like its candy. She loves going to Grandmas house and never wants to leave. The other day E and Dad went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was her first movie theater experience and she was so good. She is growing so fast and is such a joy and so much fun. She loves Hannah Montana and knows all the words to her intro song by heart.
It is hard to believe sometimes that she isn't even 3 yet. So many people think she is 4, she is so tall and talks so much. I get a kick out of her.
Happy New Year everyone. New Year, hopefully a new and improved attitude, but we'll see how long I can be "positive". It's hard. I have a friend that always seems to be upbeat and happy and ready for a party, wish I could be like you Red. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone and I love doing this. Wish I could do it more often. By the way, it is freakin' FREEZING here. Later. By the way, I am trying to use nicknames for the sake of this being public access. Got it?
