Storm coming!

Living in Nebraska, one can never predict what the Winter will be like.  Usually is involves some freezing, fluffy white stuff in the air or on the ground!  I love Winter and I LOVE that fluffy white stuff.  But since we moved, this area hasn't seen much of the beloved white stuff!  Last Summer we saw a LOT of rain and flooding.  This Winter has been dry and boring.  No snow.  A dusting maybe 2-3 times.  So, imagine my childlike excitement at the prospect of snow!  Possibly 3 inches.  It's so sad that I am excited about this.  Most of my friends think I am insane.  But I want a MAJOR snowstorm before the Winter is over.  I love how beautiful everything looks when it is covered in a layer of fresh fallen snow!  We will see what tomorrow brings!  I am trying to prepare for the hubby being gone for a week on a business trip.  Not only will I miss my best friend, I am going to miss the help he gives getting the kiddos ready for school and helping in the evenings!  He gets to hop on the company plane and head West.  What a big wig!  Must be nice!  :)  I have to figure out what to do for our oldest girls birthday.  She'll be 7 and I am dreading having ten 7-8 year olds here for her party.   The big thing here is to have birthday parties at the bowling alley.  We may have to try that.  I can't believe how fast the years are flying by.  It seems like E has just grown up so fast.  She has always been such a big girl, such a good big sister.  She is so smart and sweet and funny.  I just love that kid!  I must go play Barbie with Baby A.  She is patiently waiting for me.  Until next time.  God Bless!

Business Trip with my HOT hubby!

I am sitting in a motel enjoying a hot cup of coffee.  No kids in the background fighting over barbies or pulling on my arm to get them chocolate milk.  I enjoyed a breakfast of cinn.  french toast and coffee in peace.  Soon we will be on the road to pick up the girlies at my folks.  We had a nice evening out last night w/ a bunch of my Hubby's co-workers.  I enjoyed eating a meal that was still hot by the time I got around to eating it!!
I am thinking a lot about my Grandmother that passed away in August.  Yesterday she would have turned 93.  She was an amazing woman with Southern beauty and grace.  I am hoping we can go visit my Grandfather sometime this weekend.  Praying for my Husband's Grandfather as he fell and is healing.  It is hard to realize we are at the time in our lives when very precious loved ones are aging quickly.  Enjoy every second you have with your loved ones.  Time is precious.  God bless and have a wonderful weekend!

LOTS of pictures!

The Thanksgiving spread.

We went for a walk by the Lake after Thanksgiving dinner.  We had beautiful weather for it!

Horrible lighting and the girls in play clothes, but that is the family around the table!  We are very blessed this year to have a healthy family and such wonderful family and friends!

Happy 3rd Birthday to our "baby" girl!!!

E had so much fun decorating cookies!!!

The top balls are chocolate chip cookie dough balls.  The bottom balls are peanut butter balls I had yet to dip in chocolate.  They are both to die for!  My long-time friend Holly gave me the recipes.

Holiday travels

Christmas is just around the corner and I have so much shopping to do I can't wrap my brain around it!  We are seriously hoping the weather stays nice enough for us to make the 17 hour trip to Louisiana.  I am dreading the trip and extremely excited about it at the same time.  I look forward to having a great Holiday with my hubby's family and hope the girls enjoy themselves.  It is such a magical time of year to me.  I love all of the festivities and the family time.  And nothing is more exciting than going down South!  This week the girls have their Christmas program for school.  They have been practicing for quite a while and I can't wait to see them perform.  E is quite the little singer.  She is so very talented and has even taken to playing drums like her Daddy.  Baby A turned 3 last week and it's hard to believe how big our baby is getting.  Time flies by way too fast.  Praying everyone has a safe Holiday Season and that we don't lose sight of the reason for the celebration!!!  God bless and Merry CHRISTmas!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I will have to post pictures later, but hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  My folks came to visit for a few days.  I am happy to say we had a wonderful dinner and a wonderful time.  I wanted to go back for 2, 3, and 4 helpings of turkey, cornbread stuffing and GRAVY!!!  I was ready to drink the gravy from the gravy boat it was so delicious!  I am thankful to my wonderful Mother-in-Law for showing me how to make Southern cornbread stuffing a few years back.  I think my Husband and Father could have eaten it all between the 2 of them!  After letting the big meal "settle" for a bit, we all piled into the van and drove to the lake 3 miles from our house.  It was a gorgeous day and we were able to enjoy it for a bit before the weather turned chilly.  I hope you all had a wonderful time making memories with family and enjoying delicious food.  We have the tree up and decorated and are anxious for Christmas.  We are hoping the weather stays somewhat nice so that we can make a 17 hour drive down South to see my hubby's family!  Happy Holidays to one and all!!!

Halloween pictures and first snowfall....

Sunrise in the country!
I am finally posting a few pictures from Halloween and from our neighbors Halloween party.  The girls had so much fun.  It snowed today and I woke up at 3 a.m. and could not go back to sleep I was so excited.  Bub was so excited she HAD to play outside when they got home from school and she had to make a snowman even though there was not much snow left.  All is well here and we are all recovering from bad colds.  Life is good and it will be even better when my hubby gets home from his business trip.  Happy Fall ya'll!!!!
A helping me make pumpkin bread!  It made the house smell incredible!!!!
