Fun pictures

We had an exciting first day of snow on Saturday.  It snowed so much the girls built a snowman.

We all enjoyed playing in the snow for a while and then came inside for hot chocolate and chicken noodle soup for lunch.  After taking a little snooze, I woke up to find the snow all melted.  So glad we were able to have fun with it while it lasted.

With the weather finally getting cooler here, I have really been in the baking mood.  I have really found a LOT of great ideas and recipes on Pinterest.  So, here are few pictures of what I have been up to in the kitchen.

These are some of the ingredients I used making homemade carmelcorn!

I added in some yummy Chex cereal.  The recipe is actually one I found in one of my Pampered Chef cookbooks and I improvised.  ;)

The finished product.
It didn't last long in our house!

This is a pan of cherry crunch and a pan of brownies cooling in the window.  These were made for our school Bake Sale.

This is the dough for my awesome 4 ingredient Peanut Butter cookies.  They are soft and chewy pieces of Heaven!!!

Pumpkin muffins!!!  With just 3 ingredients!  Moist and to die for!!!!

I had a LOT of dough, so I made square shaped muffins and mini muffins, and added some mini chocolate chips!!!  YUM!

Veggie Beef soup with OKRA added for my Southern Hubby!!!!
And, I just wouldn't be me if I didn't include some sunset shots!  :)

This would be a sunRISE shot!  Isn't it gorgeous?  I just LOVE our view here!

This is another morning picture.  It was hazy and absolutely serene!  I LOVED that morning!
And now for some odds and ends... A few pics of the girls and finishing off with a picture of my sweet, precious Grandparents!  My Grandfather turned 96 on September 13th and my Grandmother passed away last year in August.  So, they are on my mind a lot lately!  They are such a great example of a GREAT marriage!  I adore them!  Hope you have enjoyed my latest update.  I may not lead an exciting eventful life, but to me, it is FULL and I feel extremely blessed!  Happy Fall Y'all!!!

Baby A set up her toys for "story time".

An after school snack.

Don't know if this will correct itself, but it is supposed to be fried green tomatoes.  My hubby made some since we had a freeze and our neighbors had a zillion green tomatoes to use up!

My sweet Grandparents!

A few pictures

I will be posting a few silly pictures today.  The girls have been making their own doll houses the past two days.  I had some candle boxes sitting around and they wanted to decorate them and make them into doll houses.  So, I figured why not use up some of my scrapbook stickers too?  I can't remember the last time I did any scrapbooking.  The girls came home from school Thursday and Friday, did their homework and went straight to work on the houses.  They worked until supper time and then played afterwards.  In the smart words of my Hubby, "That's better than spending $50 on a Barbie house!"

2 pounds of hamburger with dried onions sprinkled on the bottom.  Baked for 20 minutes at 375.

Cut and put cheese slices on top.  Put in the freezer for an hour.

Put the burgers in a bun, wrap individually in wax paper and put back in the bun bag.  Put them in the freezer and they are ready to go for school lunches.  Nuke for 30 -40 seconds.  E LOVES them!!!!!

Chicken Spaghetti.  2 cups diced, cooked chicken.  1 can each of cr. chicken and cr. mushroom soup.  Half a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies.  1 small log of Velveeta cheese.  1 box of spaghetti ( I used Fettuccini).  Mix and put in crock on low for 2-3 hours.  My family gobbled it up!!!

Sunrise

Enjoying coffee outside before waking the girls for school.

Picking pears at the neighbors house.

Our goofy girl!

Yet another glorious sunrise!

Working on the houses.

Bub's house

All of the houses lined up.  They are so proud!

E's dollhouse that she made.  Of course it is "Pinkalicious"!!!!

"Pinkalicious'" kitchen fully stocked!

Baby A's horse stable!
And, I am going to post pictures of the YUMMY supper I made last night and the sliders I made and put in the freezer for E to take to school for lunches.  I'm off to go to the Farmers Market in hopes of finding some tomatoes.  I haven't seen any there yet this year.  Happy Weekend everyone!!  :)

Happy Labor Day!

We were torn between staying home this weekend or going to Colorado Springs to see Santa's Village.  Our awesome neighbors invited us to go along.  In the end, the girls were invited to a Birthday party and would have been super upset to miss it.  The Birthday girl is one of the most liked girls in class after all!  So, we stayed home.  And today, I am very glad we did, as I am in bed sick.  My sweet Hubby is taking care of everything around here AND tending to my pathetic lil' self.  It is 2:00 and I am still in my jammies.  I can't remember the last time THAT happened!  So, the grilling and celebrating will have to wait.  This Mamma is tuckered.  I guess getting back into the swing of school season is taking more out of me than I realized.  The girls are doing really well though and I am very proud of our 6 year old reading and doing her homework so well!  She has really grown and changed a lot this Summer!  The child that threw a FIT if a drop of water touched her face in the bathtub started holding her breath and swimming under water!  THEN she even tried it without holding her nose.  And she took off on her bicycle.  FINALLY!  She still has training wheels but she is getting the hang of it.  And our 7 year old is off like crazy on her new big girl bike.  And our 3 year old is doing Montessori school work on an app. I purchased for my iPad.  SO much fun going on at our house!  Life is never dull here.  Hope everyone has a safe and fun Holiday!  My favorite Season is upon us and I can't WAIT for Fall!!!!!

Just a couple of pictures.

My hubby was driving by this field of sunflowers.  My immediate thought was, "I have GOT to get the girls and take pictures of this!!!"

The girls with Mrs. Lutz on the first day of school.  They are in a combined class of First and Second graders.  It could be a VERY interesting year for Mrs. Lutz!!!  :)
The new school year has begun.  And the girls had NO problem getting up early this morning.  I am sure that will change after a few days.  I am wondering what the year will bring with our two oldest being in the same classroom.  I hope by the time they get home they don't want to claw each others eyes out.  They have moments of sweetness and moments of pure hate.  We will be putting out a lot of arguments I am sure.  I have to adjust to getting up early again.  I was spoiled all Summer and reality has hit hard!!!  I'm off to pick the girls up from the first half day of school.  Can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Missing the Man of the House!

My amazing hubby left Sunday morning for Utah and may not be home until Friday or Saturday.  I haven't slept much since he left.  The man snores and keeps me awake when he is home, but when he is gone, I don't feel safe or protected.  I am silly.  But, I love that man of mine and I feel security when he is here.  So, about 4 hours of sleep last night, and maybe 5 the night before are making for one exhausted mamma.  The girls are being very good today.  They are "grounded" from playing on the computer or video chatting with their cousin in Texas.  It seems they can't stop arguing when playing a video game on the computer while chatting w/ their Texas family.  Grrrrrr......
Tonight is National Night Out in our tiny town.  It is an event put on by the city and we can go into town and the kids can play games and jump in a bouncy house and have some snacks.  I am nervous to go bymyself w/ the kiddos, but I think they are getting to the age where I can do that and they will behave.  Say a prayer for me!  ;)
The girls have 2 weeks left of Summer Vacation and then school starts the 20th.  I am excited and sad at the same time.  I love having a lazy Summer, but this gal likes schedule and routine.  I can't believe the girls will be in 1st and 2nd Grades.  They are growing so fast and reading so well.  I am proud of them and hope they continue to read and enjoy it more and more.  Please say a prayer for the rest of this week to go smoothly, for me to trust we will be fine and for my dear Husband to have safe travels and make it home safe and sound....and SOON!  God bless.  :)

Pretty photos

Sunset in Nebraska!

This was taken by my Hubby while on a business trip in Utah.

Shopping in Crown Center

YEARS ago,  (47 on July 31st to be exact) back in 1965, my Parents were married in Kansas City.  They met at a Christian College, fell in love and started their amazing journey in life together.  I am on their old stomping grounds all these years later with my own amazing husband as he attends a seminar for work.  I am very grateful for this opportunity to unwind and refresh myself to prepare for the school year and the next week alone as my Hubby travels.  It has been a wonderful week and I am sad to see it end.  I was able to catch up with a very dear old childhood friend who is like a brother to me.  I was able to read in peace and quiet and I was able to window shop along the pretty stores in Crown Center.  My husband took me to a wonderful restaurant called Milano's and then we had frozen yogurt for dessert.  We stayed in a motel in the center of CROWN CENTER in Kansas City and we enjoyed each others company with out any interuptions from precious little ones.  Don't get me wrong, our girls are our lives!!!!  But, once in a while, Mamma and Daddy need a break to remember how to have adult conversations that don't center around Barbie and playing dress-up.  Today we head to my folks after lunch to get our precious little ones.  I can't wait to hug them around the neck and hear all about the fun week they have had.  I know this week will be on my mind for some time.  It had been wonderful!
