It has been a bitter sweet week. My folks were finally able to come visit. It is the first time they have been to our place since we moved. They have been keeping a bedside vigil by my Grandmother. She was 92 and had a stroke in May. Things were looking up so they came to visit. They were here a few days and then got a phone call in the middle of the night that Grandma's pulse was racing, her breathing was labored and her blood pressure was dropping. They left the next morn and were able to be by her bedside all afternoon the day she died. I want to keep the memory of my precious Grandmother, Alice Viva Tanner Felgate, alive. I am determined to continue her good works! She was a prayer warrior. She was always thinking of everyone else. She was sickly most of her life, but continiued to live praising God. If only we could all live the way she did! I miss her so much, but know there is an Angel in Heaven looking over me and that gives me great comfort. So, in memory of my Grandma, I'd like to add this:
Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
There is work still waiting for you.
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in God's own land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
